Spotlighting great businesses and blogs is something I hope to do everyonce and a while. So please enjoy my review of JCEarring's Blog and feel free to go check it out for yourselves. I'm a fan.
In my recent searches through the internet I came across a great blog that I wanted to spot light and the business that goes along with it. The blog is JCEarrings Jody Coyote Blog and the business if you couldn’t have guessed it is JCEarrings. Now I’m not one personally to go online shopping for earrings, mostly because I don’t have my ears pierced, but what I can appreciate is the honesty in the voice of the writing as a blogger. I think this blog does a great job creating a personal community around a brand that looks to be very established all on its own.
Before jumping into my thoughts about the content here is a quick snapshot of the usability and navigation. On the surface it looks to be a pretty standard blog, no overly complicated homepage to navigate and an archive menu right at the top for easy access. The same goes for categories and search tab, no questions or surprises there. The only thing I wish there was, was a bit more about the author(s). I really did enjoy flipping through these posts, which were short and sweet, and would’ve liked to find out more about the person(s) behind the screen. Ok on to the content.
The very first post back in August of 2009 gives the reader a bit of insight into the brand and history then after that it gets to be more personal and educational. It has all the perfect ingredients to a great blog. It was interesting to see the history of copper in jewelry and then in the next post read about airport shenanigans – for me and other business owners very relatable. The mediums were eclectic as well which is also a plus to see; lots of pictures and video to keep the readership engaged and continually exposed to the brand.
I think that this blog is a great companion and asset to this business. The moderators and admin here have a solid understanding of not only building a great blog and brand awareness but of providing a space for conversation. It’s no secret that the more we, as readers, understand about a person and their business, the more connections we make with those people, leading to better business connections. This counts for those that become clients and customers to people that will be cheerleaders for your brand. Overall if you were a client of mine and wanted to know about continued exposure for a brand I would advise you to emulate a blog like this one.
Nice work JCEarrings!!
Cheers!!
