A lesson in life insurance

Don't forget to help support Western Mass literacy programs and the Springfield Public Libraries. Use that donate button in the left side bar!!

Today I wanted to post about life insurance but found that one of my favorite financial bloggers had a great post up. Go check out Neal's post at the Wealth Pilgrim where he answers a writer's question and sheds some light on a topic that a lot of people still struggle with. After you're done reading it come on back here and leave me your comments and thoughts about life insurance.

Do you think it's important or is it a scam?

When do you think is the right time to start thinking about it?

Should life insurance be part of everyone's financial plan?

Also check out an insurance blog written by a great friend of mine Melissa. She does an amazing job of breaking down and demystifying the insurance industry. We are also co-writing an ebook which should be very exciting! She's at Insurance in Plain English, so go show her some love!!

If you are still looking for a little extra here is one of my picks for some hard cover info on insurance planning. This text is geared more towards the financial professional that is charged with creating plans but I thought it was a helpful read for anyone looking to get a better handle on the subject. It's called Tools and Techniques of Life Insurance Planning and its by Stephan R. Leimberg, Jr. I was a fan and think that he does a great job of not only explaining but of emphasising finding and fulfilling needs.

Cheers!

Thanks for the love. :) Don't worry, I will be dropping some insurance knowledge on your blog soon enough.

Good thing I have no mortgage, no husband, and no one to inherit my life insurance. Guess that means I don't need any!
